The activities of the company are divided in two distinct sectors:
- Coil Winding Equipment for electric motor repair and transformer manufacture
- Wire Forming and Welding Machines for making domestic products, point-of-sale products, supermarket trolleys and many other applications. Tube Bending Machines and Spring Coiling Machines are also produced
The coil winding equipment is sold primarily in the UK, Middle East, North Africa and the Far East. In the coil winding sector, Whitelegg can offer a complete range of equipment to fully equip a factory for the purpose of repairing electric motors and generators of all sizes. For some years, in excess of 20 of turnover has been destined for the Middle East and North Africa.
The second half of the company's turnover is accounted for by Wire Bending and Welding Machines, Spring Coiling Machines and Tube Bending Machines. Over the years, several niche markets have developed such as lampshade frame machinery where Whitelegg machines produce over 60% of Europe's lampshades. Industrial filters (made of rings, stars and rectangles), Shop Fittings - wire stands, racks, shelves and trolleys, are other important markets.
A global business
Bi-annually Whitelegg show their machinery at exhibitions in Germany, the USA and Dubai. We also exhibit annually at the Coil Winding Exhibition in Berlin. Less frequent exhibitions are attended in Poland, Tehran (Oil & Gas exhibition), Egypt, Singapore, Thailand and the UK.
The company has a network of representatives who sell on a commission basis, throughout the world.
New markets are researched by senior staff members taking part in trade missions organised by professional associations and Chambers of Commerce.
The company strives to maintain a high level of after-sales service for both repairs and spare parts, of which a large stock is maintained.
The staff are highly motivated, and engineers are prepared to travel worldwide at short notice in order to keep the company's commitment on service.
